Sally, Richard and Eki Budden…
Access Statement
We bought Sidegate Guesthouse in January 2006 from Diane and Peter Marriott. They had built up an excellent reputation and we were lucky to be taking over such a well established and popular business. We had a frantic initial few months, falling over unpacked packing cases, finding out how sensitive the fire alarm was to anything beyond a minute and a half of bread in the toaster and getting Eki used to his new home and so many people staying in it! Two years on (we can’t believe it’s two years as the time has flown by), we’ve learnt and done a lot. We have recently upgraded the televisions in all of the rooms and have an ongoing refurbishment programme under way.

Our aim is to make guests as comfortable as possible during their stay with us. We're always happy to help with information and advice on tourist attractions in the area and have emergency supplies of toiletries you thought you'd packed but didn't...!
Breakfast

We participate in the Suffolk Breakfast Initiative, all of our produce being locally sourced. Richard cooks breakfast to order and guests with particular requirements - vegetarian, intolerances, special teas, decaffeinated coffee or tea etc., are encouraged to let us know at the time of booking so we can accommodate their particular needs. Freshly baked croissant and baguettes from our local bakery can also be served with advance notice.

Dinner
We are able to recommend many local pubs and restaurants but also offer a light dinner menu for those guests who would prefer not to go out.
